"I won't bite you
unless you want me to," you say.
"I won't hurt you
unless you want me to," you smile.
"Not a thing will I ever do
unless you ask me to."
I hear only the sound of your voice.
You interrupt me in my quiet sigh
wondering about my reluctance to speak.
"Silence," I explain, "heightens my escape."
Your smile fills in a sharp moment.
I say, "Your eyes still shine through to me."
You tell me, "Time may have made our embraces
reminiscent of dreams long gone,
but the feelings remain," you say.
And I want nothing more than this.
I want only these moments over and over.
"If I have anything more, I'll give it to you.
I have no use for it, without you," I say.
My eyes close on real life.
I spend one more time
in another world, with you.
